Finished. Well, except for some threshold work. We ended up going with Homelegend Engineered wood in mahogany, from Home Depot. Its not very mahogany-ish. More brown than red, but it has a beautiful finish. The snap-lock installation was much easier than the last stuff, too. The directions weren’t very clear – same author as the guy that writes IKEA instructions, I think – but it was pretty easy to figure out. It’s much thicker than the other stuff. It doesn’t have that “tinny” sound that the thinner engineered floors have. We also came in at $250 dollars cheaper than Lowe’s. It all worked out for the best.

All that’s left now is to rehang the freshly painted mouldings, paint the doors, and save up for some furniture.
